A downloadable project

A point-and-click adventure game where you mess with the environment because you have something to hide.

Game Loops

  1. Disruption - As the player's goal is to not get caught by the other characters, their main gameplay loop consists of providing alibis for yourself, obfuscating evidence when no one is looking, and completing any sinister objectives you may still have.
This is comparable to the loop of most point-and-click adventure games, though the closest comparison for what would be gone for would be The Secret of Monkey Island.
  2. ExplorationWhile you are the culprit and therefore know more than anyone else about what is going on, you are still allowed to explore. This loop consists of clicking to go to a room, exploring the room, and then moving on to the next. In the middle of that loop, you may find something that could disrupt your alibi, so this ties into the first loop there.
Comparable to most point-and-click adventure games such as Grim Fandango, which has a similar environmental tone to what the game would have.
  3. Suspicion - This loop revolves around a mechanic where the more others find about the scenario at hand, the more they may become onto you. As such, a loop occurs where suspicion rises, the player takes certain actions to lower that suspicion, so it doesn't get high enough that they get caught, and suspicion lowers again. This could all take place during a single scenario.
The mechanic can be compared to measurement of opinion in games like Fallout or Telltale's The Walking Dead, though there is no real direct comparison.
